Research websites
Before i started sketching and designing my own portfolio i decided to research some professional portfolios to get a feel of the functionality required and the content some of the professional designers put into their portfolios.

www.leemasondesign.com
The first portfolio i looked at was leemasondesign.com (above image). I like the portfolio page design of this website with images of different projects as the hyperlinks to the project information and development pages. The same can be seen in the second portfolio i looked at which is below.
mikekus.com/portfolio
Both websites are very minimalist and do not present a lot of information on the screen, this then draws the viewers attention more to their work which is on the homepage.
Leemasondesign.com offers a lot more functionality for the user, allowing them to look at testimonials from past clients, a blog from the designer himself and the ability to look at the work through different catagories like 'exhibition', 'identity' and 'print'. mikekus.com takes a different approach being very straight forward in its design with only two links for users to access: Portfolio and About & Contact. in my opinion this minimalism creates a very confident website, Mike Kus is saying this is my work and here is where you can contact me whereas Lee is saying here is my work, this is what people have said about my work.
